News : Harper Resourcing Set to Bounce Back in Two Cities
Nottinghamshire, England, June 3, 2015 -- Recruitment firm Harper Resourcing has plans to expand across the region by opening two new offices.
The company, established by Jane Hadfield in 1987, had more than 40 consultants at three branches at its peak.
It was forced to close its Derby and Leicester offices when the recession hit – but has plans to reopen these as the business grows.
Jane, of Syerston, near Newark, said: "When the recession hit, one of the first decisions a lot of companies made was to stop recruiting both on a permanent and temporary basis. We took the strategic approach to consolidate our staff into the East Midlands headquarters (Nottingham) from across the region.
"We are growing organically and looking to reopen in both Leicester and Derby once we have the right teams in place. Recruitment is a good barometer for economic conditions and we believe the East Midlands has been showing strong, steady growth now for the last couple of years."
Harper Resourcing, which specialises in office support, finance, call centre/customer service, human resources and sales/marketing, has 12 staff at its headquarters in Talbot Street, and several consultants working remotely in Derby and Leicester.
Darren Bungay, one of the directors, said: "We, like a lot of regional businesses, have taken the bruises and the bloody nose the recession gave us and refocused, ensuring we are now stronger than ever. We are very excited about our planned growth."
Jane added: "The last 28 years have gone in a flash but we have achieved a lot. I am pleased and proud of all the people who have worked for me over the years who have helped make Harper Resourcing what it is today."
