News : Health Call Center Inaugurated in Kabul
Sept 8, 2014 -- A Health Call Center (HIC) was jointly inaugurated by the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan and Paywast, Afghanistan’s first social network, in a bid to facilitate Afghans to consult with doctors through telecommunication.
"Afghans from anywhere in the country can now dial to consult with qqualified female and male doctors for medical enquiries related to reproductive and maternal health, nutrition and polio," the company said following a statement.
Dr. Abdul Basir Sarwar, Deputy Minister of Public Health, commenting on the goals of the call center, said "In our country, the access to quality health services have been increased as the results of our hard efforts during past one decade, but the awareness of our people regarding health information is not in a good shape, therefore we are trying in cooperation with our health partners to enhance the public awareness."
In the meantime, Paywast said the company is committed to provide market leading mobile health solutions, and is the implementing partner of Health Information Center (HIC).
"Paywast operates and leads the HIC efforts in partnership with the Health Systems Strengthening unit (HSS) of Public Health of Afghanistan," the statement added.
