News : Cognosante to Bring 140 Jobs to Nashville
Nov 13, 2013 -- A Virginia-based health information technology company has leased space near Opry Mills mall with plans for an operation that will bring 140 jobs to Nashville.
The contact center would be the first in Tennessee for McLean-based Cognosante LLC, which is expanding to help clients — states and the federal government — with implementing health insurance marketplaces and Medicaid expansion under the health care reform law.
Tom Stepka, Cognosante’s chief operating officer, said all of the 140 mostly customer service representatives are being hired locally. The company could add more jobs in the future depending on the needs and requirements of its customers, he said.
Cognosante’s center at Two Rivers Corporate Centre III off McGavock Pike in Donelson is expected to be operational by Dec. 1. With the signing of this five-year lease, the building is roughly 97 percent leased.
