News : Healthcare Provider Adding Jobs
Fort Wayne, IN., August 6, 2014 -- Business and political leaders announced the expansion of an affiliate of the Lutheran Health Network that will bring more than 300 full-time jobs to Fort Wayne over the next two to three years at a Thursday morning news conference.
Shared Services Center, which currently employs 175 people, processes medical insurance claims, handles billing questions, appeals, insurance collection and customer other customer service functions for Lutheran Health Network’s hospitals and other health care providers in the region.
"It’s our honor to provide high quality, compassionate care to the communities we serve throughout northeastern Indiana," said Brian Bauer, CEO, Lutheran Health Network. "Now, we are pleased to be able to expand our commitment to the region by creating new opportunities for employment."
To handle the additional employees, Shared Services Center will lease 62,000 square feet of space at a building located at 1700 Magnavox Way. The building most recently was home to Swiss Re.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Northeast Indiana Works, the City of Fort Wayne, and Allen County provided an incentives package including a 10-year phase-in tax abatement to help make the expansion a reality.
