News : HESCOM Gets Round-the-clock Helpline
Hubballi, India, March, 2016 -- Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar launched the Hubballi Power Supply Company’s (HESCOM) round-the-clock helpline (1912) to attend to power-related issues at a function here on Wednesday. Later, Mr. Shivakumar told presspersons that under this new facility, customers could register their complaints related to power supply by dialling the toll-free helpline number and HESCOM officials would attend to all such complaints promptly. A similar facility had invoked good response from the public in Bengaluru. Considering the success in Bengaluru, helplines have been set up in all electricity supply Companies, he said.

Replying to a query, Mr. Shivakumar said that the helpline was introduced on an experimental basis in Hubballi a few months ago. Now, the new helpline had been upgraded and all technical hitches have been overcome. Despite some complaints, the State’s power helpline facility had been adjudged the best in the country, he added.
