News : Intel-GE JV Signs Up for Mississippi Telehealth Program
Jan 24, 2014 -- Intel and General Electric‘s joint healthcare venture and Mississippi’s government have partnered to offer telemedicine services to people with diabetes in underserved communities.
The Diabetes Telehealth Network includes Intel-GE Care Innovations, C Spire, GE Healthcare, the North Sunflower Medical Center and University of Mississippi Medical Center, the university said Thursday.
Gov. Phil Bryant said this public-private partnership aims to give underserved communities "a new lifeline for health and disease management."
Care Innovations will provide its remote care management technology for clinicians and patients to share medical data from mobile devices under the program.
The Care Innovations Guide platform is designed to help physicians communicate with patients through a phone call or a video chat.
