News : Interactive Intelligence Bullish on both the Cloud and Durham
Durham, NC, USA, Aug 4, 2015 -- Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ), the Indianapolis-based call center technology firm bringing 200 new jobs to Durham, is transitioning from on-premise technologies to broader cloud options – and the strategy is working, says CEO Don Brown.
Brown sees the industry shift – and says his company has been preparing to ride it out, targeting growth specifically in cloud computing.
"Over the course of 2016, we plan to continue our geographic expansion, also to increase our scalability and functionality to the point that we’ll be able to handle even very large deployments," he says, telling investors not to underestimate the company’s ambition for its cloud product, PureCloud. "We’re aiming to handle everything from small organizations wanting to sign up online with the credit card to global companies looking for the most advanced set of customer engagement and communication solutions on the market and, all the while, we’ll continue to enhance our CIC (Customer Interaction Center) battleship for the organizations preferring a premises based on private cloud alternative."
The company recently launched the cloud-based PureCloud Collaborate service, which offers functions such as instant messaging and screen sharing.
Interactive Intelligence acquired Durham-based OrgSpan last year, a firm backed by Brown. Since then, Interactive Intelligence has been growing its local base, and making big bets on the Bull City. The company is looking to fill high-tech developer roles, whose focus will be creating communication software, and not just for call centers, but for businesses in general. The firm plans to invest in the local operation and to add the jobs by the end of 2019.
The average annual wage for the positions will be $70,000.
