News : Irish Rail to Recruit Up to 50 Customer Service Officers

Dublin, Ireland, March 2, 2020 -- Irish Rail has announced it is seeking to recruit up to 50 onboard customer service officers.

The officers will work across the network on all Intercity routes in customer service roles.

They will be tasked with providing information and support to customers, as well as assistance for people with impaired mobility.

They will also be responsible for ensuring the seat reservations are adhered to and that customers are updated on any in-service travel disruptions.

Irish Rail said training will be provided to applicants who successfully pass a number of phases in the recruitment process.

Chief Executive Jim Meade said the recruitment drive is part of the company's "ongoing programme of enhancing customer service".

He said: "Since initial internal recruitment, the response from customers to onboard customer service officers has been extremely positive, and we are looking for motivated, proactive candidates who are passionate about customer service.
