News : Jipmer Launches IT Helpline
Puducherry, India April 30, 2018 -- Jipmer has launched a round-the-clock IT helpline to facilitate instant troubleshooting of problems faced by users, including faculty and students.
The helpline was formally initiated at a recent function attended by Dr. D.R. Shukla, Director NIC, Puducherry.
In a press note, Dr. B. Vishnu Bhat, director, Jipmer, said that though an IT wing was created in 2017 after various meetings held in consultation with members of IT Advisory Committee, it became imperative to establish a helpline.

Keeping this aim in mind, a smartphone with Internet connectivity has been given to staff of IT Wing.
This helpline is available 24x7 and is multitasking as user can talk, send messages and even do video-conferencing to explain the nature of the problem to IT staff.
"This service bridges the gap between the IT wing and users," he said.
Dr. Shukla suggested having recordings of all the help given online through the helpline.
