News : Kenya: Crime Call Centre Shut
Nov 17, 2014 -- Twenty-five community-based organisations have protested against the stoppage of a local community crime fighting, detection and prevention technology by the national government.
The technology dubbed Msema 24-7 involves calling a computerised call centre after a crime. The centre then automatically alerts the residents and informs the police.
County commissioner Amos Gathecha said the technology is inappropriate for security matters.
