News : Lab West RNC Warning of Telemarketing Scam
Nov 1, 2014 -- The RNC in Labrador West are warning the public about a telemarketing scam making the rounds in the area. Police say a local resident received a call in the early morning hours from someone indicating they were an employee of Microsoft. The caller indicated that information on the person's laptop had been compromised. When the caller requested personal information from the resident, they hung up the phone.
RNC say similar calls have been received in the region. Police are reminding people never to give out personal information to someone they don't know.
