News : LateRooms to Outsource Customer Service Roles
Nov 7, 2014 -- LateRooms, the online hotel bookings website, is outsourcing its contact centre operations out of Manchester.
It is understood the operation will be outsourced to Manila in the Phillippines with the loss of around 80 customer service roles.
A spokesperson for LateRooms, said: "At the beginning of October we announced that we will be outsourcing part of our UK Contact Centre operations.
"A consultation process is currently ongoing and a number of those employees affected by the changes have now secured alternative roles within the business as part of a new structure which will create 28 positions, based in Manchester."
LateRooms was originally launched as an offshoot of the Salford-based marketing company Walsh Simmonds.
It was founded in 1998 by brothers Tony, Paul and Steve Walsh and began life in Chapel Street with six staff.
It is currently based at The Peninsula, Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester.
