News : Love Dogs and Need a Job? Chewy Pet Products is Hiring 500 in Dallas-Fort Worth
Dallas, TX, USA, May 3, 2018 -- Your dog may not like it when you leave the house for work.
But maybe your furry companion's loneliness could be mitigated if your job was at a place that specializes in pet food, treats, chewy toys and other pooch paraphernalia.
To that end, Chewy pet products has announced plans to open a new customer call center in Dallas, and the company wants to hire 500 new workers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

"The reason we decided to open a second center was a result of the incredible growth Chewy has continued to experience," Kelli Durkin, vice president customer service, said in an email. "With more than 1,000 team members, we quickly realized we were reaching capacity at our center in Hollywood, Florida and needed to expand our operations to maintain our exceptional level of 24/7 customer service."
The company plans to open the new facility this month at the Infomart building, 1950 North Stemmons Freeway, just north of downtown Dallas, and has begun accepting online applications. (That's the building that looks like the famous iron and glass Crystal Palace that once stood in London.)
The company specializes in filling online orders, and places a priority on personalized customer service.
The Metroplex was chosen because of its strong labor force, ease of access and temperate climate, she said.
The company aims to fill 100 of the jobs immediately, and the rest within the next year.
