News : Macy’s Could Add Nearly 200 Jobs at Warren County Call Center
Deerfield TWP, OH, USA, Feb 29, 2016 -- Warren County stands to gain nearly 200 new jobs at a Macy’s credit and customer service center as the fashion retailer consolidates call center locations nationwide, according to regional economic development agency REDI Cincinnati.
In addition to shuttering stores, the company announced in January plans to close one of its service centers in the St. Louis area, and divide the work between three other call center locations including one at Governor’s Pointe Office Park in Deerfield Twp. near Mason. While a total 750 jobs will be cut in St. Louis, Macy’s officials said at the time of the January announcement approximately 640 jobs could be added at the remaining call center locations in Warren County; Tempe, Ariz., and Clearwater, Fla.
Most recently on Monday, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for Macy’s local expansion in exchange for the creation of at least 175 new jobs in Deerfield Twp. and Springdale. Macy’s is also leasing space in Springdale at Progress Park.

According to REDI, in addition to the new jobs, another 1,559 jobs were retained at local Macy’s operations.
