News : Ministry Aware of Lack of Phones
Gaborone, Botswana, Dec 10 2015 -- The Assistant Minister of Agriculture Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has said he is aware of lack of telephones in the agricultural demonstrators offices in the Mmadinare Extension areas.
The minister was responding to a question in parliament on Monday. He said to address the challenge, the ministry has a call centre where farmers use a toll free number to seek assistance on any agricultural issue. In addition, he said his ministry has made arrangement to purchase airtime for extension workers.
The minister was responding to a question by Mmadinare MP, Mr Kefentse Mzwinila who was asking the minister if he is aware that agricultural demonstrators in the Mmadinare extension areas do not have telephones in their offices. He also wanted to know what is being done to ensure that farmers can communicate with the officers.
