Mangaluru, India, Apr 21, 2023 - City police commissioner Kuldeep R Jain said that 230 citizens have approached WhatsApp helpline that is formed by the city police, in the last three days, to trace their lost mobiles.
City police formed WhatsApp helpline (8277949183) in order to simplify the CEIR portal that was already in use to track the lost mobile.
The director general of police (DGP) Praveen Sood had unveiled the initiative by Mangaluru City Police on April 16.
Whoever has lost a mobile phone can send a HI message to WhatsApp number +918277949183. Soon after sending the HI message, the concerned person will receive a link to fill in the form and submit to get the lost mobile phone back.
The person need not visit the police station, and can fill the form about the details of the lost phone from any place. The. The concerned complainant should belong to Mangaluru city police limits. They can drop a WhatsApp message from anywhere. The complainant should know their mobile phone’s IMEI number.
