News : Molina Healthcare Bringing 462 New Jobs to Troy, Detroit
April 24, 2014 -- A health services company will be expanding in Michigan with help from state funding, adding more than 300 jobs in Troy in the process.
California-based Molina Healthcare, Inc., will be expanding its operations and is expected to create 462 new jobs in Troy and Detroit and generate new capital investment with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund.
Molina Healthcare of Michigan, a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, has headquarters in Troy and began operating in the state in 2000. The company plans to expand in Troy as well as lease office space in downtown Detroit.
Stephen Harris, president of Molina Healthcare of Michigan, told The Oakland Press that 337 of those 462 jobs will be located in Troy while the rest will be centered in the new Detroit office. He added that Molina will start the renovation of its new Troy location in May and begin the relocation of existing employees and staff toward the latter part of the summer.
The company will complete the site selection process for its Detroit location in May and will begin hiring more employees by the end of the year. The hiring process, which will include call center and clinical positions, will be completed by the end of 2016, Harris said.
"This expansion demonstrates our commitment to the City of Troy, the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan," Harris said in a statement released Tuesday. "With new projects coming down the pipeline, like Healthy Michigan Plan, we look forward to continuing to grow our business and the opportunity to create more jobs for local residents."
The company provides Medicaid-related solutions to meet the health care needs of low-income families and individuals and to assist state agencies in their administration of the Medicaid program.
