News : Mtel Offers New Deals to People with Hearing Impairments
Sofia, Bulgaria, May 18, 2016 -- Bulgarian operator Mtel will offer special deals to people with hearing impairments, which include minutes for video calls, mobile internet and SMS. This is possible thanks to an online platform for video gestural translation in real time which was launched on 17 May.
The platform, which was created by the 'Listen to (Zaslusaj se)' foundation with the support of NGOs and businesses, will help the hearing impaired to make video calls with gestural translation in real time. The company is an exclusive partner of this platform.
For this purpose, Mtel will provide gestural translation in five of its key stores. In order to make the translation, the company provides the project with sign language translators located in the call centre of the company as well as technical equipment to be able to implement connectivity.
Furthermore, on 30 May, Mtel will offer special tariff plans that are tailored to the needs of those with hearing impairment.
The platform was officially launched on 16 May in Sofia under the patronage of Sofia Municipality.
