News : Must-have Emergency Call information for Chuseok Holiday
Seoul, South Korea, Sept 12, 2016 -- There are some emergency telephone numbers expatriates and foreign travelers in Korea should know during Chuseok -- the Korean Thanksgiving holiday.
According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, 119 and 120 (Dasan Call Center) will be available 24 hours a day for emergency medical services. People seeking a pharmacy can call 129 or visit the website.
But for the foreign language service, the Dasan Call Center will only be available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Instead, the 1330 Korea Travel Hotline will offer a 24-hour service in four languages -- Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English.
The center, operated by the Korea Tourism Organization, will not only provide information about tourist attractions but also help travelers with immigration, safety and medical needs.
Danuri Call Center will offer its counseling service to migrant housewives in 13 languages. Women can contact the center on 1577-1366 any time during the holidays.
