News : National Child Protection Centre Starts Helpline
Islamabad, Pakistan, March 9, 2015 -- National Child Protection Centre (NCPC) has started a help line for registering complains against child rights violations.
The help line 080011515 will be available 24 hours a day, where highly trained staff is deputed to take quick action on complaints and refer them to relevant sections for immediate response. According to an NCPC official, the help line is aimed at protecting children who are vulnerable to a number of evils if trapped by people involved in criminal and immoral activities.
"We have introduced the help line and now it is the responsibility of citizens to play their role for better future of (homeless) children," the official told APP Sunday. He said the center had so far reunified 3,586 children with their families since its inception in 2007.
Almost half of the children came back to the center after being unified with their families, he said adding that so far approximately 1500 children had been facilitated.
