News : NCO to Cut 107 workers at Virginia Beach Call Center
March 6, 2014 -- A Pennsylvania-based debt collection and outsourcing services company said it will lay off 107 workers at a call center on Baxter Road in Virginia Beach.
NCO Financial Systems Inc. of Horsham, Pa., said in a notice filed Wednesday on the Virginia Workforce Network website that the layoffs will be effective May 4. The cutbacks were described as permanent.
NCO filed a shutdown notice in 2010 for a call center in Hampton and said at that time that 368 employees would lose their jobs there.
A map on the company’s website lists about 50 other U.S. locations.
A call Thursday to the Virginia Beach center was not returned, and multiple efforts to leave a message at the Horsham headquarters were unsuccessful.
