News : Nebo Launches Multilingual Call Centre
Abuja, Nigeria, February, 2015 -- The Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo launched a service call centre for the ministry to enhance service delivery.
He said this became imperative as not only would it guarantee a more appreciable provision of the sector’s services, it would also ensure that solutions to complaints and inquiries are brought to the doorsteps of the people.
Speaking in Abuja at the launch of the centre, he stated that the step would help to engage youths assuring Nigerians that the call centre would assuage the true feelings on the services provided by the sector.
The minister later demonstrated the efficacy of the facility by making the inaugural call to the centre in which he spoke in pidgin and got a satisfactory response.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Godknows Igali said the call centre was a multi-lingual government portal aimed at providing effective feed-back mechanism for government programmes, activities and services, adding that it was a government initiative targeted at ensuring prompt service delivery.

The Minister of Communication Technology, Dr Omobola Johnson, who spoke through Olufwemi Olufeko, said the platform was aimed at providing easy access to the government and its operators, through a multi channel, thus enjoined all government agencies to take advantage of it in order to enhance service-wide delivery on their mandates.
Languages for interaction on its platform are in English, Pidgin and the three major Nigerian languages.
