News : New Helpline for Small Businesses
Dec. 10, 2013 -- The Federal Coalition Government and the Fair Work Ombudsman have launched a new phone helpline for small businesses in Australia.
Federal Member for Murray Dr Sharman Stone said small business owners could phone the helpline between 8am and 5.30pm weekdays.
"The Helpline will provide assistance to employers on Fair Work matters and it should help to bring back confidence within the sector," Dr Stone said.
"The helpline is part of the Government’s election promise to assist with employment, growth and innovation.
"The Helpline will reduce waiting times for people in small business who need advice about employment matters, and will help increase knowledge about fair work laws.
"Murray has thousands of small businesses and these are an important part of our local economy. "Unfortunately there is still a minefield of regulations that will be reduced as soon as we can change them.
