News : New Open-source Platform for Building Corporate PBX Networks
Johannesburg, SA, June 17, 2015 -- A new open-source, Web-based platform for building corporate PBX (private branch exchange) telephone networks has been released by Duxbury Networking.
The FreePBX offering from Canadian-based Sangoma Technologies Corporation is designed to provide a communications ‘ecosystem’ that facilitates installation and promotes flexibility by allowing cloud-based functionality.
"FreePBX assists companies to develop customised dial plans and configuration files," explains Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking adding that the "free" in FreePBX is associated with "freedom".
In addition, Duxbury Networking is offering a number of digital, analogue and data telephony cards capable of handling varying call densities, together with carrier-quality enterprise session border controllers (SBCs) designed to provide reliable VoIP security for a wide range of applications.
