News : North Delhi Mayor Launches Dengue Helpline
New Delhi, India, Sept 17, 2015 -- North Delhi mayor Ravinder Gupta has converted the mayor's helpline (9643096430) meant for sanitation and corruption complaints into a dengue helpline.
People can file complaints about stagnant water in their area that are potential breeding spots for mosquitoes. They can also call the number if they want focal spray in and around their house.
The move comes shortly after the AAP-led Delhi government converted its defunct anti-graft helpline (1031) into dengue helpline. There is already an existing number from the Delhi government 011-23307145 acting as a dengue helpline.
North Corporation reported the maximum number of dengue cases at 776. Out of the five hospitals under it-Bara Hindurao Hospital, Kasturba Hospital, Rajan Babu Institute of Pulmonary Medicine and Tuberculosis, Maharishi Valmiki Infectious Diseases Hospitals and Mrs Giridhar Lal Hospital-the first two are among the 33 hospitals in the city that treat dengue patients for free.
Till August, the mayor's helpline received 3,334 complaints, of which 3,039 have been redressed. The mayor said disciplinary action will be taken against employees ignoring complaints.
