News : NOVO 1 Launches New Call Center in Cascade Township
April 30, 2014 -- Fort Worth, Texas-based call center operator NOVO 1 Inc. plans to invest and add 287 jobs in Cascade Township over the next three years, the company announced.
The state is supporting the project with a performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program.
The company will locate its new Dialog Direct call center at 2905 Lucerne SE. Novo 1’s commercial real estate adviser, Cresa Dallas, negotiated the sale with Peter Colvin of Sperry Van Ness Investment Property Advisors in Grand Rapids.
Novo 1 first came to West Michigan in 2010 when it opened a call center in Holland. The site currently employs about 500 people, according to a statement. The company, which works with customers in health care, insurance, finance, utilities and retail, needed to expand because its other call centers are nearing capacity.
Direct Dialog CEO Douglas Kearney said the region’s "outstanding labor market" helped lure the expansion to West Michigan. The company had considered 23 sites around the U.S. and narrowed the field to West Michigan and a site in Texas, according to a statement.
The Novo 1 announcement is the latest in a string of call center expansions in the region that could result in more than 780 new jobs overall.
As MiBiz exclusively reported on Monday, The Priceline Group Inc. is expanding its existing call center facilities for Booking.com by 25,000 square feet and is adding 150 employees in the city of Wyoming.
Additionally, an executive at Teleperformance USA confirmed to MiBiz in March that it planned to hire an additional 350 people at its call center in Cascade Township to accommodate new business from an existing client. The Teleperformance expansion follows the company’s initial investment in West Michigan last summer when it hired 325 people.
