News : NSW State Government Delivers 80 New Jobs in Hunter Region
Newcastle, Australia, July 14, 2015 -- The Hunter region will benefit from the creation of 80 new jobs, with the expansion of the Service NSW Newcastle Contact Centre set for completion by year’s end.
NSW Minister for Finance, Services and Property, Dominic Perrottet, said the move would see the centre’s current customer service team grow to more than 300.
"These extra roles will help ensure the Newcastle team can continue to deliver the high quality service that our citizens now expect," he said."The 80 new jobs will also be a win for the Hunter community."
"I am extremely proud of the work done by the contact centre team, particularly during recent times of crisis such as the severe flooding experienced in the Hunter. The whole team truly went the extra mile to support those needing help," he said.
The Newcastle and Parramatta contact centres support Service NSW’s digital service and network of 36 service centres around the state, with more sites planned during the next 18 months.
Since commencing operations in July 2013, Service NSW has served more than 17 million customers through its 24/7 phone service, website and 36 one-stop shops.
