News : NSW Women Have New Domestic Violence Helpline
NSW, Australia, September, 2016 -- A new phone number will give free, accurate and timely advice and referrals for victims of domestic violence across NSW, Attorney General Gabrielle Upton announced.
"For the first time a single, easy to remember number will connect a victim directly with the local Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service (WDVCAS) when they enter a postcode," Ms Upton said.

1800 WDVCAS (1800 938 227) will link victims with a range of local support services including accommodation, counselling, financial support, court support, legal advice and referrals to government and non-government organisations.
When a domestic violence complaint is made to police, victims are immediately linked to professional staff.
Callers will then be guided by the support staff to help navigate through the police and court process, as well as refer them to government and non-government agencies for immediate and ongoing needs.
