News : Oracle to Build New Data Centers in Germany
Sept 28, 2014 -- Oracle is planning to open two new data centers in Germany to meet customer requirements for cloud security and privacy, said Loic Le Guisquet, Oracle executive vice president for the EMEA region, during a press conference Sunday, September 28.
One of those data centers will be located in Frankfurt and the other in Munich. "This is a response to the very strong demand in Germany" for this type of service as well as to customer questions surrounding security and proximity, said Le Guisquet. "I want to make sure we are able to respond to that level of demand."
Oracle continues expanding its focus on this area, said Le Guisquet, and its ongoing investments are "about getting cloud as close to the customer as possible."
The new German data centers will be fully operational before the end of this calendar year and will cover "a very wide range of our cloud solutions," Le Guisquet added, including Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud, Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud, and Oracle Customer Experience Cloud capabilities.
