News : Orleans 911 Call Center Streamlined Process with Advanced Technology
New Orleans, LO, USA, May, 2019 -- The Orleans Parish 911 call center is in a constant state of improvement, exceeding national standards.
In 2016, OPCD and the city of New Orleans made a decision and said it needed to do things differently and align with best practices.

All 911 calls were consolidated through one center, making a more efficient, streamlined response in a city of 400,000.
The center averages 50,000 calls a month.
The center now has updated technology. Critical information is sent to dispatchers speeding up location information.
The technology is called Rapid SOS and Quick Base.
