News : Payroll Development Authority Cuts Ribbon on Job Expansion
Americus, GA, Sept 25, 2014 -- The Americus-Sumter Payroll Development Authority (PDA) cut the ribbon on the newly remodeled Contact Center located at 105 Industrial Drive last week. The facility previously housed one tenant and it has now been renovated with shared tenant space, which will initially be occupied by PharmaCentra, ConCentra Solutions, and PetCareRx, a total of 140 job positions. Additionally, the facility now meets the highest of industry standards for contact centers, including Payment Card Industry compliance.
Along with cutting the ribbon, Dan Berman, CEO of PharmaCentra and ConCentra Solutions, announced the addition of 35 new jobs between the two companies. They are currently hiring, and will continue to do so into the early part of 2015. Interested applicants may visit the website for these job postings and more. During the announcement and ribbon cutting, the PDA opened the facility to the community for tours. The renovation timing allowed for the unique opportunity to allow citizens to visit the facility and learn about the contact center industry, which continues to be a growing industry in Sumter County.
"The Concentra Solutions section of the facility has the capacity to seat 200 agents, and we plan to fill them all," shared Berman. "A portion of the seats will be occupied through an exciting new partnership with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (GVRA). The class of new employees to kick off in February 2015, will be comprised of blind individuals coordinated through the partnership with GVRA. Blind individuals have the ability to listen at a significantly faster speed than others, with 100 percent comprehension. This skill allows a company to process work at a quicker rate, meeting the demands of clients. The new partnership is exciting in that we have the opportunity to expand the workforce base for the community and fill the seats in the facility," stated Berman.
PetCareRx will also transition into the remodeled facility. Specializing in "Happier, Healthier Pets," PetCareRx is lead locally by Pauline Stewart. PetCareRx provides not only pharmaceuticals but also an endless supply of items related to pet care needs. Ranging from accessories and apparel, cleaning and grooming, to toys, food and nutrition, PetCareRx has thousands of items to meet the needs of their clients.
Barbara Grogan, PDA executive director, described the job expansion and remodel "as another example of our community partnering and supporting businesses to provide jobs for our citizens. Our community’s goal is to ensure economic growth and vitality for all businesses. If a business grows, the community grows, which brought about the remodel of the facility. As the contact center industry has evolved since original construction in 2004, the Development Authority partnered with contact center industry specialists to remodel the facility, creating a state of the art environment conducive to future growth and technology needs."
