News : Peckham Seeking People to Fill 350 Call Center Positions in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ, USA, Dec 28, 2015 -- Peckham Inc. is looking to hire more than 350 call center positions over the next two months for an incoming call center in Phoenix.
The Lansing, Michigan-based nonprofit community vocational rehabilitation organization has a contract to answer phones for the National Passport Information Center, and needs to expand in Phoenix to manage additional passport renewals for entrance into Canada, said Bonnie Zimmerman, spokeswoman for the organization.
With operations in the mid-Michigan area, Phoenix and Coralville, Iowa, Peckham helps more than 800 people with disabilities and other barriers to employment obtain competitive jobs.
The nonprofit has more than 2,200 clients participate daily in paid job training programs in manufacturing, business services, environmental services, supply chain solutions and farming.

The new Phoenix jobs will pay up to $12.53 an hour, and will include a health and welfare benefit of $4.27 per hour. The Phoenix call center also will need Spanish-speaking associates.
These full-time and part-time contact center jobs involve answering phone calls from U.S. citizens and using a computer-based knowledge system to answer general questions about policies, practice, procedures and other data to assist callers.
To be eligible for these jobs, candidates must have a documented disability, be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to pass a federal background check and have good credit.
