News : PeopleLinx Integrates Social Business Platform into Salesforce
June 20, 2014 -- Center City-based PeopleLinx announced it has integrated its social business platform into the Salesforce Sales Cloud. It was a deal that PeopleLinx customers have been yearning for, PeopleLinx cofounder Patrick Baynes said.
The news comes in the midst of PeopleLinx pivoting its product after it learned it no longer could use LinkedIn’s application programming interface. Integrating with Salesforce is a new freedom for PeopleLinx, as it no longer is tied to LinkedIn’s rules and regulations.
"LinkedIn's API terms impose strict restrictions on its ecosystem with integration to CRMs like Salesforce, even though it's what every customer is asking for," Baynes said. "This is a huge advantage for us now as few solutions in their ecosystem will have this kind of integration, further differentiating us."
According to a press release, the integration will help enterprises that use PeopleLinx bridge the gap between CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and social media by providing social marketing and sales tools within Salesforce.
"Social selling is a priority for our sales team and integrating it with Salesforce.com is table stakes for us," said Terry Connell, senior vice president of sales at Comcast Business. "It helps make social selling part of their daily sales activities."
