News : Philippine Call Center Supports U.S. Rehabilitation Programs
Makati City, Philippines, May 31, 2016 -- "Inspiring fitness. Challenging disability. Changing lives," Ryan's Run works with Allied Services Integrated Health System to help children and adults with physical disabilities. They are one of the Silver Charity Partners of the TCS New York City Marathon, which will take place on November 6, 2016. Open Access BPO's CEO Benjamin Davidowitz and his partner, Henry Chang bonded with Ryan's Run through his brother Steve, one of the original founders behind the cause-driven organization.
Three employees, Alberto Agulto, Clint Ortiz, and Leo Peñas will be Filipino citizens representing Open Access in the event. Each runner was sponsored $5,000 as a pledge to Ryan's Run. Last year, celebrities like Alicia Keys and Ethan Hawke ran in the prestigious race. This year Filipino personalities Anne Curtis and Kim Atienza will run.
"It's gratifying to know we are making dreams come true. In coming to the United States for the first time they are experiencing one of the greatest sporting events in the world, the New York Marathon. Additionally, being able to help an organization in my hometown that changes people's lives is very gratifying. This experience has brought me full circle. Three generations of my family have benefited from the programs Allied Services provides, so supporting this cause is especially meaningful," CEO Davidowitz said.
Recently, Open Access BPO has donated chairs and computers to the special education department of the Independent Living Learning Center, IILC helping local children and adults with special needs. Open Access has also provided relief goods for the survivors of Typhoon Haiyan, the most destructive typhoon to ever hit the Philippines. Further, the call center conducts an annual blood donor drive to help fill the nationwide blood bank and promote wellness among its staff.
CEO Davidowitz says he and Mr. Henry Chang, Open Access BPO's president, plan to continue giving back to important essential organizations. "All companies have a social responsibility. Being involved adds meaning to our individual lives," he said.
