News : Progressive Insurance Hiring 127 in Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs, CO, USA, September, 2016 -- Insurance provider Progressive Corp. said it plans to hire 127 people for its Colorado Springs call center and information technology operation by year's end as part of a nationwide hiring effort.
The Ohio-based company, which employs 2,000 in the Springs, wants to 110 openings in its call center, 16 in its local information technology operation and one in human resources. The company is trying to fill 1,300 openings in information technology in Colorado Springs and Cleveland; data analysis in Cleveland, customer care in Colorado Springs, Cleveland, Phoenix, Austin, Texas; Sacramento, Calif., and Tampa, Fla., as well as claims in Atlanta, Long Island and Staten Island, N.Y., Maryland, South Florida, New England and elsewhere.

"Progressive is looking for software developers and data analysts who will help propel our innovative and growing company forward," Steve Broz, Progressive's chief information officer, said Thursday in a news release. "Our employees have an opportunity to tackle challenging work and make an impact on millions of customers and claimants, as well as our nearly 30,000 employees."
Progressive lists 12 information technology jobs on its website as open in the Springs include software development, systems engineering, mobile application developer, software developer and system analysis.
The full-time call center jobs pay annual wages of between $31,200 and $39,520 with benefits. The company declined to disclose salaries for the information technology and human resource jobs, but a spokeswoman in New York said the salaries for those positions are "highly competitive within the industry."
Applicants for the customer-service jobs must have a high school diploma or passed the general educational development test, a year of sales experience, basic computer knowledge with common software and typing skills. The company provides medical, dental and vision benefits as well as a wellness program, onsite medical clinic and fitness center. Employees in those jobs help Progressive customers find the right policy for them, provide service to customers throughout the coverage period and help customers with claims.
