News : Progressive to Hire 220 in Colorado Springs for Call Center
Colorado Springs, CO, USA, September, 2015 -- Ohio-based insurance giant Progressive Corp. announced plans to hire more than 200 employees by year's end in Colorado Springs split between its call center and information technology operations.
The company, which employs 1,600 people in Colorado Springs, said the jobs are a mix of new positions and the filling of open positions. The latest hiring push comes two months after Progressive said it planned to hire 193 sales representatives and claims adjusters; 120 of those jobs remain open. The company also has 187 openings in its information technology operation, split between Colorado Springs and its Cleveland area headquarters.
The company has scheduled invitation-only interviews for call center sales representatives at its call center, 12710 Voyager Parkway. To be considered for the interview, applicants must submit their resume and complete an online assessment by Oct. 9.
The full-time sales jobs start Nov. 15 and pay $14-$17 an hour, based on work experience, plus a 10 percent differential for weekend shifts since the work schedule for the positions is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Progressive will pay a $500 bonus for new hires who have a property and casualty insurance license. Sales representatives are eligible for up to $200 a month in cash performance awards plus an annual bonus of up to 16 percent of salary based on the company meeting financial goals.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or have passed the general educational development test, a year of sales experience, basic computer knowledge with common software and typing skills. The company provides medical, dental and vision benefits and an onsite medical clinic and fitness center.
The local hiring is part of an effort to fill nearly 1,400 jobs nationwide by the end of the year, including positions in information technology, data analysis, call center, claims and corporate roles in locations that also include Arizona, California, Florida, Texas and its Mayfield Village, Ohio, headquarters.
