News : Law Firm & Contact Center Partner to Employ Veterans & Military Spouses
Beaumont, Texas, Feb. 24, 2014 -- Provost Umphrey Law Firm, L.L.P. and Veteran Contact Center, LLC have joined forces to create jobs for veterans via a new outreach and verification program.
The purpose of the program is to contact Provost Umphrey's existing clients to validate and verify their names, addresses, and other contact information. This unique partnership has provided a better opportunity for Provost Umphrey to serve the community and clients, while providing gainful employment and responsible opportunities to veteran families. The duo is also looking at other initiatives that they can utilize to provide opportunities for this deserving group of veterans.
"We want to better communicate with our past and present clients, and we are proud to match that need with the needs of our veterans and their families. Since military spouses suffer from unemployment rates several times higher than that of non-military families, Provost Umphrey is happy to support this effort," says Provost Umphrey Equity Partner, Bryan Blevins, Jr.
The Veteran Contact Center works closely with the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP). MSEP is a targeted recruitment and employment solution that creates employment connections and provides companies with direct access to military spouses seeking career opportunities. While military spouses are well educated and highly qualified for a range of careers, they face a 26 percent unemployment rate and a 25 percent wage gap compared to their civilian counterparts. 77 percent of spouses need work, yet frequent relocation is often a barrier to finding and maintaining a rewarding career.
The verification program is just another way to say thank you to the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. The community's response and cooperation with this effort will directly affect the Veteran Contact Center's ability to successfully complete this project for Provost Umphrey, promote its services to other business partners, and continue to expand the hiring of veterans and their families.
