News : Railways Launch Toll-free Helpline Number ‘132’
Hyderabad, India, March 14, 2015 -- Railways on Friday launched three-digit toll free all India security telephone number ‘132’. The launch of the helpline was mentioned in the railway budget presented by Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu last month.
The helpline will connect to the divisional control office of Railway Protection Force and is aimed at providing speedy assistance to passengers. Calls to the new helpline can be made from landlines and mobile phones. A similar helpline ‘1322’ is operational in South Central Railway (SCR) since last October, SCR informed in a release.
