News : Red Ventures Shuttering its San Antonio Call Center
March 6, 2014 -- After being open in San Antonio for the three years, Red Ventures has decided to close its San Antonio sales operations and relocate the work to the Charlotte area, the Charlotte Business Journal reported.
The company is also closing its Miami operations and shifting work to Charlotte as well.
"We’re simply more effective when we’re in close proximity to our sales operations, and we’ve proven that we can attract high-caliber talent in this growing region," Ric Elias, Red Ventures’ CEO, says in a news release about the consolidation.
Some 200 positions from San Antonio and Miami will be moved to Charlotte. The consolidation will take place over the next six months.
Red Ventures opened its San Antonio office in 2011 amid much fanfare. The direct marketing and sales company originally planned to hire as many as 360 people locally. The company’s call center is located at 5750 Northwest Parkway. It is unclear how many people work in San Antonio currently.
Red Ventures, based in Fort Mill, S.C., markets and sells products on behalf of clients in the media, energy, telecommunications and consumer service industries. Prior to the consolidation, the company had 1,800 employees nationwide.
Just last year, the company had been in an aggressive hiring mode to fill 80 positions in San Antonio.
