News : Region of Waterloo Launches New 24-hour Call Centre
June 18, 2014 -- The Region of Waterloo has opened a new 24-hour call centre to make Regional services and information more accessible.
There is now one phone number residents can use, rather than having to look up different phone numbers or extensions for different departments.
"We currently receive approximately 800,000 calls a year. This new easy number will make services more convenient for citizens," said Regional Chair Ken Seiling in a news release.
"Now we can take calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week and a real person will always be there to answer questions."
The region said most people call to ask about waste management, public health, housing and roads.
