News : Residents Pressed Security Button 134,999 Times This Year
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 11, 2016 -- Residents reaching out to the Dubai Police have increased by 56 per cent this year compared to the last year, said a top official.
Major Dr Mohammed Ali Al Hamoudi, Director of the call centre 901, said that the "your security pressing button service' was used by 134,999 people this year compared to 2,070 in the year 2015.
He added that the Dubai Police received 97,334 calls compared to last year's 62,617 during the first quarter of this year.
He said that 655 labour complains were reported in 2016 compared to last year's 550.
He said that the call centre has conducted 27,515 chats and he praised the new service, as it meets the requirement of the people, especially those who live out side of the country.
He said that the new services proved a success and it is in line with the Dubai government's strategy to implement m-government and to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.
He said that the chat service introduced in the second half of 2015 enhances the efforts of police team to serve the public.
He said that 901 succeeded in answering people queries in Arabic and English and to receive people complaint and proposals and special team was assigned to do this job and to refer the queries to the department concerned to get fast and correct information.
He said that in the future the call centre will be turned into smart police station as all services could provided on the phone number 901.
He called on people to use the new services and to get their quires and send their complaints or proposals.
He said that people should call the number 999 for emergency calls only.
