News : RTE Admissions: Now, Help Desk for Parents
Indore, India, June 21, 2016 -- The much delayed RTE admissions have become a headache for parents this year. According to instructions by state education department, district education department had to organize awareness workshops for parents before online application process starts. But due to delay in the process of registration of schools and allotment of seats for RTE has made it impossible to conduct workshops for parents to inform them about the online admission process.
Meanwhile the department is planning to take remedial measures by setting up help centres at the department office.
"We have planned to create a help desk at education department office where the parents can contact for any queries," said CEO, zila panchayat, Varadmurti Mishra. "The final list of nodal officers will be submitted today, who will help and guide parents with online applications. These nodal officers will act as coordinators and address queries of parents," added Mishra. However, the delay has already created confusion amongst parents and now the online application process has added to the problem. Even schools in the city agree that a number of parents regularly approach the school receptions asking about RTE admissions.
Many schools authorities said that parents were still thinking that the RTE admissions will be through offline mode. Meanwhile clearing the doubts about the process, Varadmurti Mishra said "Parents have to participate in admission process to schools, which are located 1-3km away from their residence. They can also approach a particular school for more details while applying."
