News : Salesforce Revamps Lightning Platform
San Francisco, CA, USA, Feb 3, 2016 -- Salesforce has kicked off its 2017 financial year by making over its Lightning CRM platform, delivering a raft of other product announcements, and officially naming former Oracle exec Keith Block as COO.
With the underlying platform now refreshed, Salesforce said the first app to benefit will be Sales Cloud, which will now integrate with Salesforce SteelBrick CPQ. The cloud providers acquisition of SteelBrick closed at the beginning of this month.

Salesforce said it would change up what editions of Sales and Service Cloud are available to users and add additional configuration and customisation capabilities into the mix.
The Enterprise, Professional and Unlimited versions will be replaced by Lightning Enterprise, Professional and Lightning Unlimited editions. They will be available later this year during Salesforce’s financial quarter ending in July.
