News : Save Indian Family Launches its Helpline in Malayalam
Mumbai, India, Oct 8, 2015 -- Save Indian Family has launched its helpline in Malayalam, reports Malayalam Manorama.
Purushavakasha Samrakshana Samgham from Thrissur launched the service in Malayalam, the report adds.
The helpline was launched because there were an increasing number of complaints of abuse by women and they felt it was needed.
Save Indian Family had launched a national toll-free helpline in 2014 to protect women who were being abused by their in-laws. The helpline has also been widely used by men who call up and report abuse.
Currently, the helpline is available in many languages. The report states that in the first year the helpline received around 35,000 calls.
The toll-free national helpline number is 8882 498 498 (dial extension 9 for Malayalam).
