News : Schneider Electric to Take a Marathon of Calls for Sports Relief 2016
Telford, UK, March 17, 2016 -- Schneider Electric is proud to once again announce its support for Sport Relief as one of 80 call centres in 2016.
On Friday 18th March, Sport Relief will be taking over our televisions with a night of entertainment. Simultaneously, 58 staff at Schneider Electric’s Telford call centre will be giving up their Friday night to handle donation calls until the early hours of Saturday morning.
This is the fourth year that Schneider Electric has been an official call centre for Comic/Sport Relief. In 2015, the Telford call centre handled 1039 calls, raising close to £44,000.
This year, volunteers and Schneider Electric staff are encouraged to get active and don their Rio de Janeiro fancy dress ahead of this year’s Olympic games. The fun-filled evening in Schneider’s call centre will include: prizes awarded for the best dressed, games to be played throughout, and treats to be shared all evening to keep spirits high.
Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives. Half of all the money the public raises is spent by Comic Relief right here at home in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities. Since 2002, Sport Relief has raised over £262 million.
Sport Relief 2016 is going to be the biggest and best yet, with more ways than ever for everyone to take part, change lives and feel proud.
