News : Scottsdale's Valor Global Cancels its Acquisition
August 13, 2014 -- Valor Global Services, a Scottsdale-based global technology company, is continuing with its heavy growth in Costa Rica and the Philippines, but canceled its previously announced acquisition.
Valor retracted its acquisition of Phoenix-based Ace Global Inc.’s call center offices in the Philippines and Costa Rica in June for various reasons it chose not to disclose, said Valor CEO, founder and president Simer Mayo.
"We were forced to retract the deal and the acquisition did not go through," Mayo told me today.
We wrote about the company’s expansion and acquisition plans in May.
Valor offers cloud, managed IT services and integrated business process outsourcing, including customer service help desk support and 24/7 contact center services every day of the year.
Valor has continued to rent Ace’s facilities in Costa Rica and the Philippines for the past three months, with the leases ending at the end of August.
Valor plans to open its own call center and IT offices in these two countries; a Costa Rica office Sept. 1 and a Philippines office Oct. 6.
The company has hired about 700 people for these two offices, and is hiring 200 more in the two countries over the next four months, mainly from Ace and two other companies. Local Valor employees are handling leadership roles at the two offices, Mayo said.
Valor now has 800 employees, a new office in San Diego, and its current Phoenix office and Scottsdale headquarters.
Locally, Valor has three positions open: an IT director, technical support and dream manager.
The company has already hired a dream manager in Costa Rica and the Philippines to fulfill its goal to make 100 dreams come true for employees and community members. Seven dreams were fulfilled this quarter, with the ultimate goal to fulfill a dream every week, Mayo said.
"Our goal objective is to help people achieve their potential," Mayo said. "We’re really focusing on making sure people are happy and doing something about their dreams."
