News : Selfie-Addiction Helpline Established for Moscow Residents
Moscow, Russia, July, 8 2015 -- Addicted to selfies? Fear not — help is at hand.
The Moscow Scientific Practical Center for Drug Addiction (MNPTs) is ready to help Moscow residents who are addicted to taking photos of themselves, the TASS news agency reported Wednesday.
"The MNPTs has created a 24-hour emergency psychological support helpline precisely for these people," Yevgeny Bryun, Russia's chief addiction psychiatrist, was cited as saying.
Selfie addiction is a growing problem, and Muscovites who suffer from it are putting themselves in danger, said Bryun.
On Tuesday, the Interior Ministry issued instructions urging the public to exercise caution when taking selfies, highlighting potentially deadly selfie settings such as near wild animals or in daredevil stunts.
