News : Serco Call Centre Jobs Axed
Oct 18, 2013 -- The operator of a call centre in Bendigo says it remains committed to the office, despite shedding more than 70 jobs.
Nine permanent positions and 64 casual jobs are being cut at the Serco call centre in Bendigo.
The changes are being made because a contract with the energy retailer, Origin, has finished.
Staff were told of the decision, and the company says all of those affected are being offered help to find new jobs.
Serco says it will continue to work hard to create opportunities in the region and grow the business.
Job numbers at the call centre have fluctuated in recent years.
