News : Single Toll-free Number for Power Plaints from January
Gurgaon, Dec 15, 2014 -- All DHBVN complaint redress centres will close down by December 31 so that customers can use the centralized toll-free number for their grievances.
Following a meeting of the power secretary with the head of both power discoms in the state, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) it was decided that January onwards all grievances shall be monitored and addressed via the centralized call centre in Hisar and not the 'suvidha kendras'.
Arun Kumar Verma, managing director of DHBVN, said that the purpose of the centralized toll free number was to ensure timely redress of consumer grievances.

"Earlier, apart from these Suvidha Kendras at each subdivision office across operation circles we had even provided telephone numbers for registering complaints. However, multiple facilities led to poor management and of complaints. This one unified call center catering exclusively to consumer grievances will make it easier for senior officials to monitor and take stock of pending grievances each month, which was a tedious process for both the consumer as well as the discom," said Verma.
He further added that there was a huge pendency even on part of the suvidha kendras at local levels which was difficult to monitor individually. "Doing away with these Kendras and making a one stop solution for all grievances also helps us employ our staff as per need at our data center in Hissar," he said. DHBVN consumers can now register their grievances on 18001804334.
