News : Sitel Adding 100 More Jobs to North I-25 Call Center
Albuquerque, NM, US, Jan 22, 2015 -- By the end of 2015, the Sitel call center in Albuquerque will be at full capacity, or 1,000 employees.
Sitel Albuquerque Site Director Mike Messier said the center, in the North I-25 corridor in the @25 center, added 270 jobs in 2014, bringing it to almost 900. Now, he said, the company is looking to find even more.
"We're not looking for short-term employees," Messier said.
The center, which opened 12 years ago, serves several national companies, including a coffee chain, a major satellite TV company, a large shoe firm and an emergency roadside assistance firm.
In the last year, several call centers have expanded, or launched, in Albuquerque, including Comcast adding 450 jobs, Canon InformationTechnologies adding 150 and S&P Data announcing it was hiring several hundred in Rio Rancho.
"What's interesting with the Albuquerque site, we have consistently met our recruiting needs year after year," Messier said. "I think that's a Sitel thing, and I think that's an Albuquerque thing."
Messier said the Albuquerque site also consistently beats industry standards for its rate of employee turnover.
"I know that our goal is to bring in as many clients as we can, and employ as many New Mexicans as we can," Messier said.
